Jayme Ritchie, Co-Founder & Executive Director

JAYME RITCHIE is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of WeeCycle.
Jayme was born and raised in New York and came to Colorado in 1996 to attend college at the University of Colorado at Boulder where she studied Philosophy. Jayme then attended the University of Denver and graduated in 2004 with a law degree and a legal masters degree in Environmental and Natural Resources Law. She practiced environmental and natural resources law and commercial litigation for several years prior to becoming a mom and creating WeeCycle to combine her passion for helping underprivileged children and environmental preservation.

Morgan Seibel, Program Director

MORGAN SEIBEL was an active Advisory Board member with WeeCycle since its inception in 2008 until 2015 when Morgan transitioned her role. Morgan grew up in New York and moved to Colorado in 2003 to attend the University of Colorado. She fell in love with the mountains and sunshine and has been here ever since. Morgan graduated from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Her areas of emphasis were in Finance, Accounting and International Business. Currently, Morgan owns The Power of OM yoga studio in Denver. Morgan possesses a strong desire to improve the community in which we live in, and feels that if each of us can give what we can and do what we are able to for others, we all benefit.

Rich Parker, Gear Coordinator

RICH PARKER grew up in New Jersey and attended the University of Minnesota where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology/Business Administration. Rich has served in the U.S. Air Force and is a Vietnam Vet. He has a diverse work history including sales/marketing management positions with Northwest and Continental Airlines, managing nationwide sales teams in the hair care products industry, developing new business with Smarte Carte, Inc. and international airports and owning a home inspection business. Rich is currently a weekly volunteer at Aurora’s Fitzsimons V.A. Community Living Center where he meets with WWII to share stories and conversation. Following the wise words of his mother, Rich believes that he must help those less financially fortunate, or those who are physically of mentally disabled, as the gift of giving is the most important one.

Tara Burns, Development Director

TARA BURNS is the proud mama of two boys and is raising them with her husband in Arvada, Colorado where they all share the love of the Rocky Mountains.  She was born in Houston, Texas and grew up in Denver, Colorado where she attended the University of Northern Colorado and the University of Phoenix for her Bachelors in Psychology.  She is currently working towards her Masters in Counseling.  Tara started her career in recruiting and has done that for the greater part of 10 years. She always had her heart in helping others, so for the past 6 years she has spent her time speaking as an Ambassador for Bonfils Blood Center and volunteers her time as a member of the Board of Directors for the Wishbone Foundation. Tara has joined WeeCycle with a desire and passion to not only help those that are less fortunate by providing families with the necessary gear to thrive, but also keeping items out of landfills by recycling essential baby gear.


Advisory Board

SUNNY HEYDORN was born in Maine and lived in Scotland, Florida, California and D.C. before making Colorado her home in 1992. She skied and biked her way through Fort Lewis College in Durango, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology. Sunny received her law degree from the University of Denver in 2002, and practiced commercial real estate and corporate law until 2008, when her son arrived on the scene and changed everything! Several years later, with one week’s notice, Sunny took in a recently orphaned, 15 month old boy, and was thrilled to officially adopt him in 2015.  Sunny has always been driven to help other people, and after becoming a mom, that drive became her passion to help children have a better life.  Creating WeeCycle is the fulfillment of one of Sunny’s lifelong goals, and being a mom is more fun than she ever could have imagined.  Sunny currently works in-house for a large financial services company where her practice focuses on corporate law and risk management. She lives with her husband, their two boys, and their dog, Otis.

NICOLE REINAN was born and raised near LaCrosse, Wisconsin. After graduating from University Wisconsin-LaCrosse with a major in Business Administration and a double minor in International Business and French, Nicole moved to Bangkok, Thailand to pursue her passion of volunteering by working with the Mekong Environmental Institute. Once back in the States, Nicole moved to Denver to enjoy the year-round sun and to start her career in business. As a project manager at ccintellect, a Denver-based marketing firm, Nicole managed clients’ web development projects and then moved into the security software industry with the move to Vericept Corporation. Her passion of learning called her back to Regis University of which she earned her Masters of Education and Secondary Teacher Licensure. Nicole currently is the board chair of WeeCycle and the vice chair of her children’s school parent council.  In her spare time, Nicole enjoys traveling, yoga, weightlifting, knitting and spending time with her husband, Jay, and their children.

SAMANTHA THOMPSON is a Southerner by birth but a Coloradan at heart. For the past 18 years, Samantha has called Colorado her home minus a 5 year stint living in New York City. While living in Manhattan, Samantha had her dream job as an event planner working for an international law firm. She had the opportunity to work all over the world before settling down in Denver. In addition to raising a family, Samantha continued to follow her passion and started Bluebird Events. Her business allows her to do what she loves, throwing parties and organizing events, while being able to give back to the community.

CANDACE DALE is a mom to two girls who believes that it is the responsibility of the entire community to support our children. She’s proud to be a part of WeeCycle and bring her passions to an organization that helps families throughout Denver/Boulder. She was born and raised in Rochester, NY and moved to Colorado following getting her MBA from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). She spent several years in consulting helping clients across industries to use research to understand their customer needs and deliver on them. She now works for Kaiser Permanente Colorado’s strategy team where she focuses on ensuring that every member has a personalized experience. She’s proud to be raising two Colorado girls and enjoys spending as much time as possible in the outdoors with them and her husband Andrew. Depending on the weather, weekends are spent skiing, hiking and/or rock climbing as well as grocery shopping, of course.

JASON GREEN is a Colorado native, who grew up in Aurora. Jason attended Colorado State University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with a double minor in Political Science and African American History. While attending CSU, he served as president of the student body. Post graduation, Jason worked as a recruiter for the Job Corps program for several years where he followed his passions for working with youth and advocating post-secondary education. He also lived in Prague, Czech Republic with his wife Rebecca, where he taught English; they now have a two-year old daughter, Ellington. Currently Jason is the owner of Harmonix Solutions, where he provides finance, IT and social media marketing support for small businesses. He is also a professional DJ with Elite Entertainment! Jason enjoys traveling, is an avid gardener, foodie, runner and loves being a father!

KATIE ROACH migrated from St. Paul, MN as a young child and grew up in Longmont, Colorado. She attended Colorado State University, earning her BFA in photography. After working as a staffing supervisor for a local staffing company, she earned her MA in Art History and Museum Studies from the University of Denver. Katie worked for several years at the Molly Brown House Museum managing a core volunteer staff of about 85 docents and 30 seasonal youth volunteers. Katie enjoys spending her days exploring Denver with her husband and their two daughters, and is excited to bring her passion for working with others to WeeCycle.

SARAH BARNES worked for almost eight years as an attorney before leaving the legal profession to become a Teach For America corps member, teaching for three years at a charter school in Denver. She now works for the Colorado Children’s Campaign, a nonpartisan advocacy organization, as a policy analyst, advocating for policies that will improve the lives of our youngest Coloradans in the areas of early childhood, health and K-12 education. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to further impact the lives of Colorado kids and their families as a member of the WeeCycle advisory board. In her spare time, Sarah loves reading, wine, yoga and spending time with her husband Chris and daughter Emerson.

PAUL PLAKSIN was born in Belarus and moved to Colorado in 1994, growing up in Aurora. Paul received a Bachelor’s degree from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder. After college, he moved to Denver, where he has been ever since. Paul currently works as a Business Development Executive at Flood and Peterson — a privately-held, local, commercial insurance broker.  In his spare time, Paul enjoys skiing and watching all Denver sports teams.

HILARY BACA grew up in Oregon and moved to Colorado in 1997. She attended both the University of Colorado at Boulder and the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, graduating with a Bachelor in Business. Hilary has spent her career working in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors, primarily in Client Management roles. Currently, Hilary is a Client Relationship Manger at National Jewish Health. Her department provides tobacco cessation phone counseling to thousands of Coloradans each month. Hilary and her husband have a wonderful daughter and a black Labrador retriever, and love living in this beautiful state!  

EMILY WEBER is a nationally recognized academic medicine and health care attorney and shareholder at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schrek.  She attended Villanova University School of Law and was an undergraduate biology major at Washington University in St. Louis.  In her free time Emily enjoys snuggling with her adorable 2 year old Margot and traveling, skiing, mountain biking and golfing with her husband Kyle.

Emily is  thrilled to be joining WeeCycle to get involved in an organization whose work directly impacts families, children, mothers and fathers in Colorado.  She especially appreciates how WeeCycle donations do not sit in a store, where a parent in need has to purchase them, but instead those parents are matched with high quality, gently used goods for their children.
